Core Grouting Services has recently completed a grout testing and removal scope of work for a Norwegian oil company.
The work scope was undertaking by Core at their dockyard facility in Cork harbour. Core managed the installation of 380m of steel pipework to simulate the existing offshore grout pipework system. The pipes were then filled with a sodium silicate grout and left to cure. To prove the feasibility of removing the grout from the offshore pipework, the grout was removed from the pipework assemblies using high pressure water jetting systems supplied by Sureclean. A programme of tests on sodium silicate grout properties was also completed as part of the scope.
